JCCP and BAAPS Announce Partnership to Strengthen Standards in Aesthetic Surgery

The Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP) and the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) have entered into a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), reflecting a shared commitment to raising standards and enhancing public protection within the UK’s aesthetic sector.

This collaborative agreement sets out a voluntary, non-contractual framework through which both organisations will work together to promote best practice, uphold rigorous training and education standards, and contribute to the Government’s evolving regulatory framework for aesthetic plastic surgery.

The partnership highlights key shared priorities, including:

· Enhancing public and professional awareness of safe practice

· Supporting data collection and adverse incident reporting

· Strengthening education and practitioner training pathways

· Promoting a culture of collaboration, transparency, and patient-first values

While maintaining their distinct roles, both BAAPS and the JCCP will share expertise and insights to inform policy, improve patient safety, and foster innovation across the sector.

This alliance reflects a clear, mutual intent: to work together in the public interest and help shape a safer, more accountable future for aesthetic surgery in the UK.
